1970 Eagle Indy

History

Chassis 80 3 was sold to Bob Wilke for legendary driver Bobby Unser. Unser drove the car in practice at the 1970 Indy 500. Hoffman Racing bought the car for Larry " Boom Boom" Cannon who drove the car for his practice test as the Pep Gas Treatment Special in the 1973 Indy 500. Larry Cannon also drove the car at Michigan, Trenton and Texas World in 1973. Larry Cannon drove the car in the 1974 Indy 500 as the American Financial Special. He started 33rd and finished 24th. The car ran practice at the 1975 Indy 500.

There were 6 1970 Eagles built. They were designed by Len Terry who also designed the Lotus 38.

Condition

Car was restored a number of years ago. Car is in very good cosmetic condition. Believed to be mechanically sound.

36 degree Turbo Charged Offenhauser. Approximately 800 hp

Hewland LG 500 (4 Speed) MkII

Wheels / Tires

Original 10" wide front and 14" wide rear magnesium Eagle wheels.
