1983 Eagle Chassis 83-05
History:
- Originally purchased from Dan Gurney's All American Racers (Santa Ana, CA) by Dick Simon Racing for Team owner and Driver, Dick Simon. Simon campaigned chassis 83-05 for three road course races of 1983 CART season (Road America, Riverside, & Mid Ohio). Fellow teammate, Jorge Koechlin, made his only race appearance for DSR at Laguna Seca in this car.
- Following the 1983 season, the car was purchased by Hess Racing for Driver, Dick Ferguson. Ferguson, attempted to qualify at Indy but was unable to get the car up to speed. He campaigned the car for the majority of the 1984 season with finishes at Cleveland, Road America, Pocono, Mid Ohio, and Laguna Seca.
Condition:
Very complete as last campaigned by Hess Racing. Excellent candidate for restoration. Complete transaxle, water lines, cables, wiring, gauges, etc.
Engine:
Cosworth DFX V8 Turbo. Display engine with good block, heads, exhaust, turbo and wastegate. Approximately 750 HP at 11,000 RPM.
Transaxle:
Hewland DGZ - 5 Speed with reverse. Limited Slip Differential.
Brakes:
AP 4 Piston Calipers. Vented Rotors
Wheels:
BBS Three Piece. Front 10x15, Rear 14x15
