History
Originally campaigned by Bettenhausen Motorsports with driver Stefan Johansson for 1996 Champ Car series. Original sponsor was Alumax. Placed 15th overall with several top ten finishes. Original engine was a Ilmor Mercedes Benz v8 (engines were never released by manufacturer). Following the 96 Champ car season chassis 961.008 was sold to series sponsor Fed Ex for display and promotion purposes. All 1997 Champ car drivers were photographed in the car at California Speedway. In 2004, Marcovicci -Wez Engineering installed a reliable 2.65 Ford Cosworth XB V8. Successfully campaigned in BOSS series.
