History

USAC #1725, CART #335. The March 84C was the dominant Indy car of its era. 27 of the 33 car field for the 1984 Indy 500 were March cars. The March cars took pole position (Tom Sneva with a speed of 210.029) and the top 14 finishing positions with Rick Mears winning, and leading 119 of the 200 laps. This car was built by March Engineering Ltd., England, in 1984.

It was bought by Interscope Racing for Danny Ongais as the Interscope Special. At the 1984 Indy 500 Danny qualified the car in 11th position with a speed of 203.97 mph and finished 9th.

Condition

The car is in very original condition, including paint, uprights, brake rotors, brake calipers, body work, instruments, reservoir shocks, etc. There is no engine in the car, but we have the correct Cosworth DFX engine available. There is no evidence that the car has any crash damage.

Transaxle:

Complete March-Hewland DGB 5 speed with reverse and limited slip differential.

Wheels / Tires:

BBS center lock wheels with Goodyear tires

Miscellaneous

Many braided hoses are in place along with oil cooler, fuel cell, dry break, brake lines, etc. Wings are Speedway trim.
